The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq both close at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 23, this year, so hold off on Black Friday holiday shopping until after the close. Looking ahead, the stock market will be closed for Christmas on Dec. 25 and New Year's on Jan. 1, both Mondays. The full New York Stock Exchange holiday schedule and trading hours for 2017 and U.S. stocks markets are closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving. On Friday, the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq will resume normal trading hours but will close early at 1 p.m. ET. The markets will be open on Black Friday but close early at 1 p.m. ET. The NYSE and Nasdaq will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving Day. The markets are slated to be back in action on Black Friday but close early at 1 p.m. Eastern that day. As far as the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is also known as Black Friday, the stock market will technically open but it will only operate for limited period of time on the day. Both the Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange will close their doors at 1 p.m. ET on the day, which is three hours earlier than usual. Both Nasdaq and NYSE will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, and the markets will have an early close on the day after Thanksgiving. They will be closed.
