India's current account deficit narrowed sharply to USD 6.3 billion in the July to September 2019 from USD 19.0 billion in the same period last year, as the goods gap fell to USD 38.1 billion from USD 50.0 billion and the secondary income surplus rose to USD 20.0 billion from USD 19.4 billion. trade surplus is better than trade deficit because it entails a better balance of payments (BOP) while trade deficit entails poor balance of payments.trade surplus also implies that exports exceed A country has a trade surplus when it exports more than it imports.
